This camp is a great introduction to a “summer intensive” for younger, motivated ballet students looking to refine their ballet technique and greatly enhance their dance training in a condensed period of time. Students must have had at least 1 full year of ballet training to participate. Each day will begin with a 1 hour and 30 minute ballet class taught by a Passion Dance Academy or guest teacher, in which the students will improve upon their technical skills through the Vaganova Method of training. The remainder of the day will include learning ballet choreography, a jazz/musical theatre dance or modern dance class, and a conditioning session. In the choreography session students will learn and perfect choreography for a classical ballet piece. The jazz/musical theatre dance and modern dance classes will teach the students how to diversify their dance technique through each different style, and these classes will also include a choreography session for that style. The conditioning session will focus strength building and stretching exercises that will teach the students how to increase their flexibility and muscle stamina as well as prevent injuries. On Friday afternoon a brief demonstration will be held for the parents during the final 30 minutes of the intensive day, in which the students will showcase the ballet, musical theater dance, and modern dance choreography learned throughout the week.
Requirements:
Ages 8 – 12
Must have at least 1 full year prior ballet experience, in which the student is familiar with ballet terminology and ballet barre work
For current Passion Academy students: students that have completed Ballet levels IB, IV, IVA and/or V

What to Wear:
Ladies should wear a plain black leotard with convertible pink tights. Jazz pants may be worn for musical theatre dance class. Footwear is pink ballet shoes. Bring jazz shoes for the musical theatre dance class if owned, but they are not necessary. No jewelry, with the exception of stud earrings, should be worn. Hair should be pulled off the face in a ballet bun, if long enough.
Gentleman should wear plain black knit shorts or leggings and a plain white t-shirt. Footwear is black ballet shoes with white socks. Bring jazz shoes for the musical theatre dance class if owned, but they are not necessary.
What to Bring:

Theraband/resistance band if owned
