Broadway Through The Decades ( Hits from Singin’ In The Rain,

Grease, Footloose)

Join our Musical Theatre Mentors for a high energy week of fun and learning! We will be working with fellow campers to develop a performance that includes different Broadway hits. Using songs from select musicals, mentors will introduce students to important aspects of acting, dance, singing, and work with students to sharpen skills. Students will benefit from exploring different dance styles of each musical. Dance is an integral part of musical theatre, as it adds an extra layer of storytelling to the performance. This music theatre camp offers jazz, and an option for tap as well! Students not participating in tap will do jazz only. At the end of the week, parents are invited to see a showcase of all the students have worked on. No matter your child or teen’s  experience level, our musical theatre campers are sure to have fun, develop social skills, learn new things, and discover a deeper understand of theatre performance.

***The last day of camp will conclude with two performances at 12:15 and 1:30 pm in studio 1 of our facility, in order to accommodate guests.

What to Wear:

Ladies may  wear any color leotard with fitted dance pants, leggings or dance shorts over leotard. Tights should be tan colored, and footwear is tan jazz shoes. Hair should be pulled off the face in a bun, braid, or ponytail. A solid black leotard and black capri leggings should be worn over tan tights for performance day. 

Gentleman should wear plain black pants or shorts and a solid colored t-shirt. Footwear is black jazz shoes. A solid black t – shirt should be worn the last day with fitted black pants.

*We are providing two optional tap sessions for our students: Beginner and Intermediate/ Advanced

Any students interested in tap will have their Tap placement audition on the first day of camp. Tap shoes are required for the audition. 

*All campers must bring a flannel shirt or denim jacket and/or jeans shorts or jeans for Footloose performance. All other costumes and accessories needed for performance will be provided by Passion Academy.

What to Bring: a hearty snack, lunch, and a water bottle. Please make sure to label items with name.
