Auditions

Teens should prepare to sing a 30-second to 1-minute segment of a song ( with no other backing vocals) from a musical of their choice for their video audition. If a camper is selected, we will send an early registration link for the camp. Please submit an unedited audition video to katie@passionacademy.net as soon as possible. The last day for video submission is Friday,May 1st.

Call Backs

Select Campers may be called to an open callback on Saturday, June 6th, if we need to hear more. Please be aware that this does not guarantee a solo. All selected students will be provided with more details in advance so that they are prepared for their callbacks. We will announce lead roles on the first day of camp!

Camp Description:

Step into the spotlight with our Broadway Intensive Music Theatre Camp, an exciting, high-energy experience designed for aspiring performers who want to dive deep into the world of musical theater! Whether you’re an experienced performer or a beginner, this immersive camp will help you develop essential skills in singing, acting, and dancing, all while learning from professionals. Throughout the camp, participants will prepare for a performance on the final day of camp, which includes songs from the following Broadway shows: The Great Gatsby, Hairspray, and Mamma Mia. Over the course of the camp, participants will engage in exercises focusing on vocal technique, dance choreography, and acting through song! Students will have the opportunity to refine their skills, expand their repertoire, and receive personalized feedback, culminating in a final performance that showcases their growth and confidence. Join us for an unforgettable journey that will leave you inspired! Please note: A dance background is strongly recommended to participate in this camp, as many of the performances will involve choreography.

What to Wear:

Ladies should wear a leotard, tank top, or t -t-shirt that is not too loose-fitted Monday-Thursday.

Leggings, dance shorts, or a dance skirt should be worn, along with tan character shoes. Please bring regular jazz shoes or tennis shoes as well to rehearse in.

Hair should be pulled off the face in a bun, braid, or ponytail. No jewelry other than stud earrings should be worn. Please wear a black sleeveless scoop neck leotard and tan tights on the final day of camp. We will provide the rest! Gentlemen should wear clothes that are comfortable to dance in, Monday-Thursday, and black jazz shoes. A white t-shirt, a white collared shirt, a suit, and possibly black dress shoes will be needed for the performance as well. We will provide the rest!

*We are offering a tap option for students in this camp again this summer! It is not

required to tap, but please bring tap shoes as well if you’d like to participate in tap dance.

Performances:

12:00 pm and 2 pm on Friday, June 12th at Passion Academy ( Studio 1)

* Please block off both performance times, as we will be assigning different guests to both performances. An email will be sent at a later date regarding how many guests per performer are able to attend.
