This 4 day ballet intensive is designed for adult dance students ages 18+ who are at an Advanced Beginning or Intermediate ballet level and have a passion to further their classical ballet training and knowledge of the art form in an encouraging environment. Each day will begin with an hour and a half ballet technique class in the style of the Vaganova Method taught by Passion Dance Academy Program Director, Sarah Ruppel Bullis. The class will focus on polishing details of ballet technique while strengthening muscles, coordination, and flexibility and developing artistic expression. A repertoire session will follow the technique class where students will learn the choreography of a classical ballet variation and further develop their artistic expression and performance skills. Each day of the intensive will finish with a Conditioning class, in which students will learn exercises to supplement their strength and flexibility training.
This adult intensive is designed as a 4 day course, however, if you are interested but unable to attend all 4 days please contact Sarah Ruppel Bullis at sarah@passionacademy.net

What to Wear:
Ladies should wear a leotard with ballet tights or fitted leggings. Skirts are optional. Footwear is ballet shoes. Hair should be pulled off the face in a ballet bun or ponytail, if long enough.
Gentleman should wear knit shorts or leggings and a plain t-shirt. Footwear is ballet shoes with white socks.

New adult dance students: Please fill out the form below and we will contact you regarding scheduling a class.
Current adult dance students: Please notify us of your intention to attend a class by either adding yourself to the class schedule through your Pike 13 account or by emailing dance@passionacademy.net at least 2 hours before the scheduled class. We will send you a purchase request to pay for the class online.
There is no registration fee for adult dance students.
Adult Ballet
In this class students will learn classical ballet technique and terminology. With consistent attendance the student will improve upon proper alignment, balance, coordination, flexibility, and musicality. Classes are divided into a variety of levels based on the student’s prior experience.
Adult Pre-Pointe
This class encourages the safe and consistent strengthening of the muscles of the feet, ankles and lower legs, necessary for the demanding study of ballet pointe work. Exercises may include the use of Thera bands, balance discs, exercise balls of various sizes and the ballet barre.
Adult Stretch
This class will improve your flexibility, balance and coordination through the use of carefully executed stretching exercises. Delivered within a relaxed atmosphere, students can expect to experience a calm, stress relieving, relaxation inducing, and happiness cultivating class.
Adult Jazz
This class follows classic jazz dance techniques and encourages development in strength, flexibility, coordination, and recall through a warm-up, center exercises, and floor-crossing movements. Combinations will be taught each week, allowing the dancer to build upon previously learned material.
Adult Tap
This class teaches students how to create a percussive instrument out of their feet. Students will learn tap terminology and the importance of rhythm and sound while developing and strengthening their tap technique. Classes are divided into a variety of levels based on the student’s prior experience.
Adult Modern
The study of modern dance technique encourages the student to articulate their bodies in a variety of ways, through the manipulation of weight, gravity, contraction and release. With consistent attendance the student will experience improved muscle strength, better body alignment, and balance as well as an improvement in their ability to remember and recall a series of connected movements.
Conditioning for Dancers
This class is designed for students that want to increase their muscle strength in order to improve their dance technique. Classes will focus on strengthening students’ turnout, ankles and feet, and core muscles as well as increasing flexibility. Students that take this class will advance more rapidly in their weekly dance classes as they gain a deeper understanding of their individual physicality.
