ABOUT
Changing lives through the arts
At Passion Academy, we seek to ignite a passion in students and walk alongside them throughout their journey in the arts. Our high-quality mentors inspire and invest in students, making learning a fun and engaging experience rather than a chore.
We develop the whole student
Our unique environment of mentorship develops artistic excellence while encouraging the relationships, character, and personal discipline needed to be a successful artist. We strive to give each student a strong foundation in creativity and the art of performance.
Say hello to our team
For more than 20 years Sarah has enjoyed sharing her love for dance as a teacher. At a young age she began independently teaching children’s summer ballet camps in her hometown of Annapolis. Upon transitioning from her professional dance career to a teaching career, she joined the Richmond Ballet faculty in 2010 as well as started teaching as an independent ballet and creative movement teacher with the Weinstein Jewish Community Center and the Goddard School of Short Pump. She received her barre fitness certification with The Barre Boutique in 2012 and delights in helping both children and adult students condition their bodies for dance and/or a healthy lifestyle by teaching conditioning classes that combine a mixture of therapeutic strengthening, pilates, and yoga exercises. In 2015 Sarah began to develop her own dance academy training program with Passion Academy. As the Dance Program Director she oversees all of the classes as well as puts together and choreographs two annual story productions. Her recent productions include The Nutcracker Revisited, Neverland, Inside Out, The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, and Wizard of Oz. She is excited to continue to grow the program and share her passion and knowledge with all dance students that come her way!
