Preschool Ballet Camp: Princes and Princesses

Pre-school ballet camp is a great introduction to a summer dance camp for aspiring dancers. The morning will be filled with a variety of dance and craft activities to accommodate the attention span and physical strength of a young dancer. Each day will begin with a 45 minute Pre-Ballet class that will focus on the foundations of ballet technique: flexibility, posture, balance, basic positions, coordination, spatial awareness, musicality, and artistry. Fairytale story time will follow the ballet class, and then the students will learn a dance that coincides with the story of the day. Next, the students will participate in a craft activity pertaining to the story, in which they will make a costume accessory or scenery item. Finally, the students will practice that day’s dance in costume to prepare for the performance at the end of the week. Parents are invited watch a short demonstration of all of the dances learned during the final 30 minutes of camp on Friday. Performance costumes will be provided by Passion Academy. Several snack breaks will be included in the daily camp schedule.
