Sophie is originally from Raleigh, NC. Her dance experience began when she was five years old at the Raleigh School of Ballet. As her skills developed, she joined their Professional Division at the age of thirteen, which is Raleigh School of Ballet’s program that recognizes potential in young aspiring dancers. Sophie then continued her dance studies at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts as a ballet major for three years. During that time, she attended summer programs at the Miami City Ballet and Richmond Ballet. After graduating high school, Sophie moved to Richmond, Virginia to begin dancing with the Richmond Ballet as a Trainee. Recently, Sophie joined the Stavna Ballet as a company member in Midlothian, Virginia under the direction of Shannon McConville. She also serves a role as a substitute teacher at the Stavna Ballet. Sophie has performed in numerous pieces including Valse Fantasy, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Divertimento, Paquita, La Source and Kingdom choreographed by Larry Keigwin.
Currently, Sophie is pursuing Nutrition Science and Business degrees. She hopes to utilize these degrees to help further her ability to serve her students’ needs. Sophie has a deep appreciation for the arts and loves children. She has over six years of experience with caring for children of all ages and has served in multiple roles working with children.
