Even though Rachel didn’t grow up with musicians in her family, she was always surrounded by music. Growing up listening to classic rock, folk and musical theatre, Rachel discovered she had a true passion for music. She has been singing since she can remember, but started writing at the age of 10. Storytelling has always found a way into her life somehow, whether it be through writing her own music, watching and being in musical theatre productions, or playing instruments. She currently plays ukulele, piano and guitar, but she plans on learning the violin and other instruments as well. Rachel is thankful that music is such a big part of her life, as it has helped her become who she is.

What Passion Academy means to Rachel…

Passion Academy has made such an impact on my life, and it’s something I look forward to every week. I have been there since the summer of 2014 when I started with Band Camp. I remember being so nervous when I first walked in, but was immediately greeted with smiling faces and more instruments than I could have ever imagined. I knew from the first day that Passion Academy was a great fit for me. I currently take piano lessons and I am part of the Artist Development Program. The environment is the perfect balance of keeping things casual but getting things done at the same time. It’s such a great place to be open and creative and know that your ideas are never insignificant.

About Rachel’s new single…

“What If” was kept as simple as possible with piano, guitar, cello and vocals. It is something Rachel has really enjoyed working on and she hopes others can connect with something in her music.
