Nick Faulconer, an up and coming Richmond-based singer-songwriter-guitarist, is releasing his first demo EP “Untested,” on December 1, 2017. The EP features bluesy pop acoustic performances of his original songs. The EP will be available on all major platforms including Spotify, iTunes, and Amazon.

The EP features “Running with the Wind,” which is an intense and room-filling sound showcasing Nick’s soulful-pop vocals and his percussive guitar playing. “Running with the Wind” is popular with Nick’s live audiences around Virginia. Nick launched into the local Virginia music scene in March 2017 with his performance on the TV show Virginia This Morning. Now 19, Nick plays professionally, performing throughout Central Virginia and beyond. You can find dates to see Nick perform at his Facebook page Nick Faulconer Music.

He has appeared on TV three times since March and was selected to kick off International Guitar Month on the Richmond radio show The Electric Croude.

Nick grew up singing, playing his guitar, and busking (playing for tips) on the Charlottesville Downtown Mall. There he learned to play for an ever-changing crowd, and he learned that he had a passion for performing.  He is an alumni of Passion Academy, where he studied music in his early teens, participating in their artist development program where he honed his songwriting and performance skills.

Nick takes inspiration from artists including John Mayer, Jason Mraz, Eric Clapton, Ed Sheeran, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, as well as the Virginia-based band Erin and The Wildfire.

What Passion Academy Means to Nick

Nick says, “Passion Academy has facilitated a lot of growth for me as a musician and as a person. Some of the most important ways were working with other musicians, playing in a trio under the mentorship of Daniel Johannesson, and finding my own style. I’ve always been encouraged to be myself and not stray into the trap of trying to be what other people want me to be.”

Nick also points out that Passion Academy has helped him learn about recording and music production through their Artist Development Program.  He has especially enjoyed working with mentor Josh Woods to record the music for his EP and with Joel Woods on songwriting and guitar.

“Daniel and Derek (co-owners of Passion Academy) have helped me have opportunities to play events and get experience performing. They have encouraged me to grow,” says Nick.
