Lion King
Ballet Performance Camp

This camp is perfect for dancers looking to improve upon basic ballet technique and for students interested in enhancing their performing art skills by being a part of a dance production. Each day will begin with a 1 hour ballet technique class, which will focus on improving flexibility, posture, balance, coordination, basic positions and center/across the floor steps, and musicality. An improvisation lesson (with costume accessories) will follow, in which students will learn how to enhance their character performance skills while putting their own artistic visions into the characters. After a snack break, the remainder of the camp day will include activities pertaining to putting together a ballet production of The Lion King. Students will learn professional choreography and participate in craft activities that involve making costume accessories, props, and scenery to be used in the final performance. Students in this camp will have a chance to be the performers as well as part of the production team! Parents will be invited to view the performance in the studio at 11:15AM on the final camp day. Costumes for the performance will be provided.
