Did you know that suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death among young people, resulting in about 4,400 deaths per year? And did you also know that bully victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims? Pretty unsettling isn’t it?

Now can we ask you for a favor? It’s a simple one, but we are 100% certain that it will have a tremendous impact on a countless number of people. We want you to help us tell a story that we know will help change these statistics, a story that will change someone’s life. It’s a story of hope and strength and courage, and helping us tell it is a one-of-a-kind opportunity that will not only impact young people’s lives, it will actually save them!

We’re calling our story Invincible!

Powerful title right? But we believe that nothing less will do for the one-of-a kind theatrical production we are putting on for this year’s Passion Academy Winter Showcase.

Invincible is a story about someone you might know. Actually, we’re pretty certain it’s a story about someone you know. It’s a story about a family member, a neighbor, a co-worker, a friend’s son or daughter. It may even be a story about you.

It’s a story about a young girl whose strength is put to the test when she is forced to move to a new school. She encounters heavy pressure to fit in and before long, she finds that she has become the victim of bullying. It affects her deeply, but as the drama unfolds, she realizes that she doesn’t have to fit the mold of certain groupings, that she can make friends just by being herself. But most of all she discovers her identity, that she has a bigger place in the world, and that she can help others who have similar struggles.

Invincible is a production you don’t want to miss! The date is Sunday, December 17th from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. The location is Mills E. Godwin High School auditorium. And the event is being put on through Passion Arts Foundation, the nonprofit wing of Passion Academy.

Passion Arts Foundation has one distinct and very important purpose, to help provide outstanding quality educational opportunities in the Arts for anyone who needs it but can’t afford it.

And that is where you come in! We want to make money on this event, so that we can pour into Passion Arts Foundation to help the very students we are going to encourage and inspire through Invincible. There is tremendous potential for the Foundation, not only through Passion Academy, but through partnerships with local schools and other organizations. We all know someone, or maybe you are that someone, who would benefit from being able to participate in the arts, but can’t because finances, disabilities, or just life circumstances make it impossible. Passion Arts Foundation wants to take someone’s “impossible” and make them “invincible”, and this year’s Winter Showcase is just the beginning. We’ve designed it to really be a kick-off for the Foundation and its growth. And we can’t do it without the help of our community.

So, here’s what we’re asking…will you help us cover the expenses of this production, so that 100% of the ticket sales can be funneled into the Foundation? Will you be our ambassadors and cheerleaders? Did you know that every year companies have certain monies they have to spend by giving it to nonprofits, like Passion Arts Foundation? And if those companies don’t spend the money, they lose it. So we’re asking you to go into your workplace and ask your boss, “how does our company go about donating money to nonprofits?” We’re asking you to consider what your own small business can do, or your neighbor’s small business, or your family member’s small business. We’re asking you to tap on the shoulders of your friends who have a philanthropic mindset and the money to sow into good ground. We’re asking you to help us find people and places we can partner with, not only for this event, but for years to come, and we’re asking you to be bold about it on our behalf. Why? Because we believe 100% in what we’re doing and in the impact it can have!

To make it easy, we have laid out what these tax-deductible donations and sponsorships could look like. We want to see a community of people jumping in to make a difference, with everyone playing the part that fits the best for them.

There are a couple of ways you can help financially:
• Purchase tickets to the event and/or RSVP on the event page here.
• Making a donation on the YouCaring page here.

Additional ways you can help:
• Forward this link to all of your friends.
• Download the event poster, print off a few copies (preferably in color) and put a few up at your local community boards (Coffee shops, Restaurants, Churches, Community Centers).

Proceeds for Invincible: A Story of Hope benefit Passion Arts Foundation, Bridging RVA and the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation.

Our friends and partners at G-Force Karts Richmond have generously donated 100 race tickets to Passion Arts Foundation which will be sold at the discounted rate of $13.00 per race through December 17, 2017. When you purchase a race ticket, all of the proceeds will benefit Passion Arts Foundation, Bridging RVA and the Cameron K. Gallagher Foundation.

There is so much that can be done through this one event to help so many people. We are so excited…we hope you are too. Please help us spread the word about Invincible! It is going to be incredible!
