Treasure Island Ballet Performance Camp
Sarah Ruppel Bullis
This camp is perfect for students looking to enhance their artistry/performing skills through dance or for those that just love putting a production together. Each day will begin with a 1 hour basic ballet technique class, which will focus on improving flexibility, posture, balance, coordination, positions and center/across the floor steps, and musicality. An improvisation lesson (with costume accessories) will follow, in which students will learn how to enhance their character performance skills while putting their own artistic visions into the characters. After a snack break, the remainder of the camp day will include activities pertaining to putting together an original ballet production of Adventure to Treasure Island, choreographed by Sarah Ruppel Bullis. Students will learn the professional choreography as well as participate in craft activities that involve making costume accessories, props, and scenery to be used in the final performance. Students in this camp will have a chance to be both the performers and the production team! Parents will be invited to view the performance in the studio at 11:15 on the final camp day. Costumes for the performance will be provided.
