At Passion Academy, we are most inspired by our talented students. I recently sat down with Savannah Brown, who is newly enrolled in voice lessons and being mentored by Tim Bakker. An Aspiring Artist, Savannah is an amazing girl who is always up for a challenge and she is excited for the opportunity to pursue music and develop skills that will carry into every aspect of her life. While hanging out with Savannah, I asked her a few questions and got to know what she is all about… I thought it was worthing sharing!

You mentioned that missions is one of your interests… In what ways have you been involved in missions?
In 2011, I spent a week in Long Island, Bahamas, where I got to help out with kids at a Vacation Bible School. We got to hang out and meet a lot of new friends that I still keep in touch with today! In Richmond, I’ve helped with inner-city missions, packed food that was sent to India and packaged supplies for our deployed troops.

I caught a twenty inch red drum over the summer while visiting my grandparents in North Carolina, and shot two does this year.

My mom… She is an amazing woman of God and helps me with absolutely everything. She is always there for me and she is definitely inspiring.
What is the greatest challenge you have had to face and how did you over come?
I shared several sermons in front of hundreds of people at church through kids’ ministry and I approached it by asking God for strength and wisdom to get through it.
I would like to be in the music industry or to be a military nurse.
How will learning at Passion Academy prepare to fulfill your God given purpose?
I hope for it to make me more confident and comfortable with my music. I definitely want to focus on doing it for God and to work in and through him. It will also help me to be able to know my voice and my talents and have confidence in knowing what I want to do with my gifts.
Favorite Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:7; For we walk by faith, not by sight.
